Sharing my knowledge, journey and tips to overcome hardships, get healthier, and explore

I’m passionate about helping people build strength that carries into every part of life—on the trail, while traveling, and in the everyday moments in between. My mission is to empower others to feel confident, capable, and independent as they explore the outdoors, step into new places, and create healthier, more fulfilling lives along the way.

I live in Colorado!

When I first started backpacking again as an adult, I lived in Austin, Texas after I decided to file for divorce and seek out what really made me happy. Big surprise – it was nature! A few years after my divorce, I moved into a 24 ft C-Class RV with my three cats (now deceased) and traveled much of the US. About five years ago, I met my current partner and settled in Colorado!

I have two pups!

After 23 years with three cats whom I loved dearly, I decided to give raising two doggos a try! Roxie and Thrash are trouble but also super fun!

I struggle with fitness.

Backpacking requires a lot of fitness if you want to get to the high peaks and far out lakes. Especially while wearing a pack, so I won’t tell you that I’m unfit, but I will tell you that I struggle with it. There are days when I eat too much pizza, I don’t want to go on my ruck, or I just want to lay around all day and read. The struggle is REALLLLLLLLL.

That photo to the right… I was supposed to run a half but ended up only running a 10K because I didn’t train properly.

Start of 10K run where I was supposed to run a half marathon.
